Beatrice Community Hospital and Health Center, a profitable and diverse medical center, has an outstanding opportunity for a Director of Quality Improvement.  This new (2012), 144,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility represents a commitment to provide the highest quality of care to the communities it serves.  Morgan Hunter HealthSearch has been retained to conduct this key search.

Reporting directly to the Chief Nursing Officer, this position provides leadership in defining, implementing, and integrating quality, safety, service, and efficiency strategies into the plans, policies, and organizational processes that affect the organization’s operations and strategic direction.

 

The Director of Quality Improvement works in collaboration with senior leadership, Board Quality Committee, Medical Staff Executive Committee, and other medical staff and hospital committees in the delivery of patient care to meet or exceed clinical and operational metrics.  Coordinates the development of the Quality Scorecard and Dashboards, Chairs the Clinical Performance Council, oversees the collection, analysis, coordination and reporting of quality data both internally and externally, as well as provides strategies ensuring compliance with Core, ORYX Measures and other reported metrics.  The director currently manages one staff member and the department is budgeted to add a second.

 

Candidates must have a minimum of 4 years of clinical experience with 2-3 years of experience in data analysis and management of organizational quality using FOCUS-PDSA and LEAN.  Minimum educational qualifications include a BSN or other related bachelors degree.  Ideal candidates will bring Masters’ preparation, CPHQ designation and training or certification in LEAN process improvement.

 

Beatrice is located in southeastern Nebraska less than 40 minutes from Lincoln and affords an enviable quality of life and cost of living.  Less than 5 minutes from town is the Homestead National Monument and Tallgrass Prairie, commemorating the first homestead in the nation under the Homestead Act of 1862.  This is prime hunting and fishing territory.
