The Interim Director of Women’s Services presents with more than 30 years of nursing experience, of which 25 have been in a leadership capacity.  She has completed three previous interim engagements.  Her L&D environments have been as large as 3,100 annual deliveries with a Level III NICU.  She has been in for-profit and non-profit settings, as well as union and non-union.

Describes her personal clinical strengths as still being hands-on and can triage or labor/deliver. She noted when beginning a new position, she does competency evaluations on her nursing staff (other than NICU).  She also rounds frequently as a means of ongoing observation and mentoring. From an administrative standpoint, she manages productivity and educates the staff on why it is important.

The candidate describes her management style as one which holds staff accountable to basic nursing standards (implements a nursing 101 basics program), is transparent and helps staff see the big picture beyond just their department. She spends a lot of time on-the-floor with staff to build trust and has an open-door policy.
