The candidate presents with 30 years of nursing experience and 10 as an interim leader.  Her clinical background encompasses intensive and critical care, telemetry, LTAC and vascular services, as well as DON and CNO responsibilities with ED reporting to her.  As an interim, she has been in environments ranging from critical access to large community hospitals.

 

Candidate describes her clinical competencies as current in critical care, patient assessment, care coordination and bedside nursing. She noted her administrative strengths to include budget development/monitoring, staff productivity planning/control, supply utilization, physician and family relations, as well as implementing best practices, training and monitoring regulatory compliance.

 

Describes her management style as one of high staff engagement achieved through using Studer techniques, consistent communication of patient-centered values and objectives and personal visibility/approachability, while mentoring and modeling behaviors and actions. She indicated she is not a micro-manager but holds staff accountable for outcomes.  She said one of her hot buttons is indifference toward the patient.
