The candidate presents with more than 35 years of nursing experience with five as an interim nursing leader.  As an interim/consultant, she has served as a CNO, a faculty member and as a director over behavioral health, medical-surgical, critical care and quality.  Two of her last three engagements have been as an Interim CNO in critical access hospitals.

 

Candidate describes her clinical competencies as hands-on in critical care, mother-baby, behavioral and medical-surgical. She describes her administrative strengths as developing, monitoring and managing operational and capital budgets, labor control processes, quality programming and risk assessment.

 

Describes her management style as one that sets expectations and hold staff accountable for outcomes and as open and communicative. She said she rounds on patients daily and rounds on staff with a purpose.  The candidate mentioned that she is perceived as out-front, visible, accessible and no-nonsense.  She remarked, “I set and maintain a just culture and expect collaboration to support patient care.”
