Interim Director of Women’s Services

The candidate presents with more than 30 years of nursing background almost exclusively in women and children’s services.  She has been in leadership roles since 2003, and has been an interim since 2007.  Her interim engagements have included oversite of women and children’s services in settings ranging from 1,600 to 4,800 birth annually with staffs numbering from 70 to 175 FTEs.

The candidate describes her management style as based in a combination of Studer and other techniques focused on developing trust with staff and providers, establishing and enforcing performance accountabilities, and clinical credibility. She prefers to support outcome-centered teams that provide input on problem identification and resolution.  She impresses as having a personable approach with a strong metrics orientation.  She reported using daily huddles (staff and providers) and participates in multi-disciplinary patient rounding to maintain unit cohesion and focus on outcomes.
